WHAT'S LIMEADE?

What else is sour? A cancer diagnosis! And in May 2024 I received mine at just 35 years old. I was diagnosed with non-seminoma testicular cancer, and since then I've undergone an inguinal orchiectomy (doctor-speak for surgery to remove the testicle) and received 3 cycles of chemotherapy. It's been a hell of a roller coaster. 

I started journaling when chemo kicked off as a form of self therapy, and thereafter decided to memorialize my experience online as a resource for others who have to go through something similar. If this blog can help even one other person deal with their diagnosis - then I've made a little limeade from my lime. And even if not, it's a way to post more pictures of myself on the internet, which my friends claim is one of my favorite hobbies. I'm also writing because I think there are elements of my journey that are different than the average case and which I struggled to find answers or stories about online - for example, discovery via sports injury, surgery complications, micro-metastasis, adverse reaction to Lonquex injections, etc.
